Spanish and Portugese Royalty

Going back to the 13th Century, the Piatt branch of the family can trace their ancestry back to English, Spanish and Portugese royalty as shown below. The research about our royal ancestors is still ongoing, but we do have the below information put together for a starting place. Anyone having further information about any of these ancestors is requested to send it to me so that I can include it in the family tree.

His father was Edward Plantagenet III, King of England 1312-1377

Anne MORTIMER 1390 – 1411 whose father was
Sir Roger VI 4th Earl of March MORTIMER or DeMortimer 1374 -1398

Lady Cecily Duchess of York NEVILLE 1415 – 1495 whose father was
Sir Ralph 1st Earl of Westmorland ' De NEVILLE 1363 – 1425
Richard and Cecily were the parents of many children including 2 Kings of England - Edward IV and Richard III.

Dorothy VERNON 1531 – 1584, the 'Runaway Bride' whose father was
Sir George 'King of the Peak' VERNON 1503 – 1565

Sir George MANNERS 1572 – 1623 was married to
Grace PIERREPONT 1575 – 1650 'Lady Manners' who founded the Lady Manners school near Bakewell, Derbyshire, England in 1636. Her parents were Henry Pierrepont and Frances Cavendish both of whom have a rich ancestry.

Thomas Bryan BOWLBY 1665 – 1730 who emigrated from England to New Jersey in 1727 was married to
Martha BARKER 1671 – 1761 whose mother was Eleanor Ellen WINSLOW 1637 – 1676 a descendant of the Mayflower Winslows. Martha emigrated with her husband, but after his death she moved back to England where she died.

Mary LANNING 1710 – 1780

Elizabeth DUNN 1739 – 1823

Benjamin PIATT 1762 – 1826

William A. Sr. PIATT 1792 – 1859 was born at the Base of Jenny Jump Mountain, near Hackettstown, New Jersey and moved west during his life. He died in LaGrange County, Indiana. He was married to (2nd wife)
Hannah TINDALL 1800 – 1852

Nathaniel A. PIATT 1826 – 1908 was one of the first settlers in Branch County Michigan and his history is written in the Branch County History Book. He was married to
Nancy RITTER 1827 – 1875

David Maxwell PIATT 1849 – 1886 was married to
Patience C MABREY 1857 – 1877 who's parents lived about 1/4 mile down the road from Nathaniel's farm. She died soon after their only child was born.
Their son -
George Orville PIATT 1876 – 1959 was living with his mother's family in the 1880 Census and was listed as one of the children of his mother's sister. But he knew his grandfather Nathaniel and in fact inherited Nathaniel's farm. George was married to
Margarette Evangeline WHALEY 1882 – 1951 whose family most likely emigrated from Whaley (England or Ireland).
George and Margarette had two children, both daughters: Erta Marie Piatt b. 1902 and Alma LaMoyne Piatt b. 1910 (my father's mother).
Erta Marie Piatt married Hugh Edward Walker 1900 - 1977 and they had 4 children, Donald Leon Walker, Vernon Dale Walker, Joyce Elaine Walker and Jerald Lee Walker (died before the age of 1).
These were my father's cousin's on the Piatt side of the family. And so we share a great and royal ancestry.
